Kearsley Girls Bowling Is State Runner-up

The Kearsley girls's bowling team, the 2010 FML champions, finished a very close second in the MHSAA State Bowling Championships. After qualifying for match play by finishing fifth out of 18 teams in the qualifying round, Kearsley defeated Corunna and Charlotte before falling to two-time defending champion Tecumseh by only seven pins, 1699-1692. The Hornets' 1692 pins in the Division 2 championship match was a higher score than the state champions in any of the other three divisions.

Oxford's lady bowlers, who had finished second in the Flint Metro League, lost to Tecumseh in the quarterfinals, giving the FML two of the top eight teams in the final state standings.
