Lapeer West Wins FML Girls' Golf Tourney and Title

Led by medalist Catherine Benscoter, Lapeer West won the 2009 FML girls' golf tournament by four strokes over Swartz Creek to claim the overall league championship. The Panthers shot a 388 after a perfect 9-0 dual match season. Swartz Creek's 392 on the tough Boulder Pointe course was followed by Fenton (406), Linden (413), Lapeer East (420), Kearsley (422), Brandon (445), Oxford (459), Holly (462), and Clio (485).

Catherine Benscoter shot a 79 for the 18-hole individual championship. Lapeer East's Kelsey Robinson was the runner-up, shooting an 88, and Swartz Creek's Haylee Zyber was third with an 89.
