Oxford HS Begins Final Year in FML with VB Tourney

Oxford High School hosted the ten Flint Metro League schools in a pre-season varsity volleyball invitational on Saturday, August 22. This event heralded the beginning of Oxford's final year in the FML, as it was notified earlier in the week of its admission to the Oakland Activities Association for the 2010-11 school year.

Lapeer East finished first in the volleyball tournament, which did not count in the league standings but was designed as an early showcase for the FML's strong sense of sportsmanship. The Eagles won 16 out of 18 sets in the round robin tourney, with Linden finishing second by taking 15 sets. Fenton was third, winning 12 sets, and host Oxford used tie-breakers to finish fourth at 10-8.
